fascism: history & theory - david renton

didn't know DR was a swp guy starting this, but it shows in the text! fine for a broad overview of interwar left discourse on fascism, not great if you want a good analysis on fascism. i forgot i'd finished reading this twice, so make of that what you will

the babysitter lives - stephen graham jones

a book club read. ngl, i didn't really get this one, partly bc i've been too mentally frazzled to follow something with a deliberately confusing & non-linear plot. partly the writing style? but it is very atmospheric, if you like weird, creepy reads

unmasking autism - devon price

okay so this was a book i read (well, listened to) for work but i think people here would probably be interested. informative about what autism is from an experiential perspective & i think most of the exercises included are broadly helpful. i would recommend!

braised pork - an yu

ethereal & surreal - smoke-like in a way, hard to hold on to. i didn't dislike this at all, but i also didn't connect with it very strongly; there's just something a little insubstantial about it

the nameless - ramsey campbell

ugh. turgid & dull. forced myself to finish this for book club & thank god everyone else there hated it too. some interesting ideas but just bad, messy execution.

the satsuma complex - bob mortimer

i enjoy bob mortimer's comedy & found this a lot of fun. it was a better read than i was expecting, altho idk why i had such low expectations - i guess bc a lot of books by celebrities are just kind of shit? anyway, this is a great holiday read.
