My biggest takeaway from the course is to communicate with mindfulness. After learning all of these theories, it has become so important to me to take them with me in future encounters and in my professional field.

The most memorable theory we have learned is the agenda setting theory. It has made me realize how prevalent this theory still is today with algorithms and seeing curated content.

The agenda setting theory is still relevant. Although we base our media around what we like or share with algorithms, we still get lots of agendas. The most recent agenda setting I can think of is with the political tiktoks I see. I don't believe I see gatekeeping in the media.

A recent example of the media shaping the publics agenda is through different environmental posts. I am a big nature girl, so seeing people post their sustainable lifestyles online makes me want to invest in new and sustainable lifestyles.

A parasocial relationship I have is with Joey King. This parasocial relationship brings me anger, as I do not like Joey King as an actress.

I chose Disney, and one example of this company shaping cultural values is through the evolution of its princesses to promote the value of self acceptance. The gif I chose shows how I think it can be beneficial to show cultural influences by media conglomerates.

The meme I made is about blurring personal boundaries. In today's society, people don't know when to keep things private off social media.

One way that AI has negatively impacted my education is making it more incorporated into my course work. I feel like I don't really learn when I have to use AI for my homework and my critical thinking goes down.

I best respond to participation. I react to this best as when my voice is heard, I feel more valued in the company and feel like I can be part of the change.

An organization that could use a culture shift is Amazon. They are known for their cruel work environments and poor sustainability initiatives. I would change their sustainability initiatives to actually think of the environment and creating a labor union, to ensure ethical work.

I'm demonstrating logos, so here is a syllogism I think about:
Companies that do not recycle increase contamination levels.
The company does not recycle.
Therefore, the company increases contamination levels.

I support the main claim of the Media Multiplexity Theory, as my closest friends and I share media with each other all the time. Whether it's tiktoks, reels, or shared shows, we are always sharing media with each other, but I don't do this with close acquaintances.

On Instagram one time, I had a friend tag me in her post that was marked to only her friends to see it. This led to a context collapse, as the inside joke post could be seen by everyone that followed me, including my friends and bosses.

The central dialectical tension between Rachel and Ross in the show "Friends" is the integration vs separation discourse. Rachel wants independence, but Ross relies heavily on the need for constant togetherness.

I grew up in a protective family, because it was the very much "do as I say" and follow the rules type. An example from growing up was having to follow a strict bedtime, all the way up until I was about 17 in high school, just because my parents said so.
