Chronic pain, my body hates me, makes TV, puts numbers in spreadsheets, crazy office mates

I have a proof copy of my first novel and I'm so chuffed, now I just need to blackmail famous people into saying nice things, sell a sensible million copies, easy peasy, realistic goals - ISABELLA NAGG AND THE POT OF BASIL is out in May (calliope for scale)

As the first duck emerged from the primordial ocean... It was COOL

And though he knew there were more yet to come, none would be as cool as he.

The earth formed and there were still no ducks.

Behold the evolution of the duck beanie

In the beginning it was too bright and there was no duck, merely a pair of duck sunglasses?

When will there be there be a duck?

And so the advent begins...

I bought an advent calendar box of Christmas rubber ducks, because I'm 48 and I can.

Day 1 there was no duck, just a pair of duck sunglasses? WTAF

I will be posting daily updates on the duck atrocity

The worst part of having a chronic illness and not being super rich, is not the pain or the never-ending symptoms, it's having to live with other people's noise.

I would buy a house in the middle of nowhere where I never had to hear other people ever again, right now if I could afford it.

Sometimes you just need to hold the hand of the person you love.

Sometimes within all the crazy, that's enough to keep you going.

The comfort food that is Antiques Roadshow after a long day of dealing with people.

The brain switches off and you get to look at pretty stuff.

Antiques Roadshow expects no active engagement at all - utter perfection

No one told me when I started my TV career that in 25 years part of my job description would be worrying about a crew member breaking a pot lid at 6am on a Sunday morning

I defeated my body and did a thing. I was the winner!

I now remember that the true joy of watching a community theater pantomime, is not in the watching, but rather the hour after complaining about it and discussing how you would do it better

I had plans to do a thing today.
My body decided that the plan was to feel like a metal spike was piercing my brain.
So apparently I will not be doing a thing anymore.
