I placed an order with a US based shop. For some reason they decided to simple select Karlsruhe as region or whatever and now ship to

`Mauer, Karlsruhe 69256 DE` - one of the two cities is correct. The zip code is correct.

Let's see if this package ever arrives...

Continuing to listen to @djangochat , the topic of AI-generated contributions came up. 🎧

Shortly after, I read a post from the GNOME Extensions team explaining why they had to add a new review rule. They are seeing more and more patches generated with AI, full of unnecessary code, bad patterns […]

Mozilla seems to be working really, really hard on getting rid of the last 10 users who still like Firefox.

The fact that they have less market share than Linux on the desktop it should be a wake up call.

Instead they double down on features I haven’t seen a single user be happy about.

Guess […]

I’m not a big fan of phone cases. And this was never an issue till @Airmed brought cats into my life. Since then every single device had one scratch.

So I’m giving a dbrand skin and screen protector a shot.

I already got glow in the dark skins on the MacBook (which needs to last for a decade […]

I got a gift code from Kagi for 3 month free use. Ping if you want to check out a search engine that is worth the money.

Upgrading the Surface Go 2 from #fedora 42 to 43 broke the installation. There was not a single package not base distribution. 5 Flatpaks installed.

I’ll take the chance and throw universal blue on the system.

This is the first Linux system upgrade in 20 years that broke something… usually I’m […]

I’m curious if we’ll soon not just see geo blocks on websites but also hardware level blocks for devices to be activated in the UK.

Theoretically I should have all parts to make my humidifier a smart humidifier over the holiday break.
Maybe a good excuse to try Rust on an ESP32.

Suggestions which #homeassistant enabled humidifier to order once I’m done with mine welcome.

We need more DisplayPort enabled devices.

FireWire failed due to gate keeping. Thunderbolt surely isn’t a success thanks for the same reason. HDMI should fail for this reason even if it’s unlikely at this point […]

Okay, #dispatch is a great game. The end. Nothing to add. :)

Can we now please see this escalate and have them have a nerd slap fight in an hexagon cage?

Best outcome both sit in a corner crying because the other said mean things during the weight in.

(Sorry, I’ll stop being an ass, but I really couldn’t resist this one. Not with those two involved) […]

A friend of mine runs a Discord server with a few thousand users and both his GMT timezone mods are on vacation. He asked me to keep an eye on it.

I admire and pity anyone with mod status in online communities.

Why do I have to explain a full grown adult at 10am that’s it’s a “no no” to tell […]

Two hours with #overwatch2 on Linux and no issues at all.

The shader compilation took a minute at start and can be fixed by either not letting it clean the cache or switching to DX12 (for whatever reason?!).

Locked at 300fps, latency and input delay around the same as Windows. I don’t want to […]

I know #bazzite is actively discouraging you to rebase from Gnome to KDE but I see no reason why this shouldn’t work as long as I’m willing to reset my local configs before doing so.

I’ll keep you posted on me feeling smarter than the documentation before getting a reality check because I […]

My weekend projects to finish week long vacation not touching any code or infrastructure:

- finish #dispatch
- make #overwatch2 work on Bazzite for competitive play

So far the Steam version post in game shader compilation is pinned at 300fps (custom limit) but something seems a bit blurry. Not […]

We might have to try a #vegetarian diet as it seems to work better for @Airmed but I also need to get about 260g protein in each day and I don’t like drinking whey shakes all day.

Any recommendations for vegetarian cookbooks with high protein options that taste good?

If any part of the Internet is going down this weekend it’s because the person administering it with a #furry avatar is at ComicCon in Stuttgart in a fur suit and is not on call :D #comicconstuttgart

One thing I noticed driving to ComicCon is that the best driving song is still StaticX - The Only and the best album to play while driving in the soundtrack of Need For Speed Underground.

Also @Airmed and I are in Stuttgart for #comicconstuttgart if you want to get a drink :)

Self hosting Brave sync hit a roadblock I will likely not look into this week.

I got the service setup and the reverse proxy configured to rewrite URLs to prefix them with /v2.

Without the rewrite everything 404s. With the rewrite nothing happens when confirming the sync code.

Might be […]
