The key is no button mashing. The auto targeting doesn't show itself so you move the camera around and it isolates targets based on context.

You know what's kinda wierd? I remember HATING the catwoman online pass BS in 2011 but everytime I replay the Catwoman sections they feel oddly tacked on. It doesn't help she has significantly less abilities than batman. Still like playing as her and City is still unbelievably good.

You may very well be shocked by how much of an improvement Arkham City is. The combat alone is monumental leaps and bounds better but still highly approachable.

I feel like its going to be an adaptation that isn't retelling a story but telling a different story in the same universe. Kinda like how they brought characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars into live action. Think about how many unique stories Mass Effect or Halo could have.

Also this but the best looking games I've ever seen are rarely the most technically impressive but the most artistically sound. Burnout Revenge on PS2🤌

Resident Evil 4 on GC
MGS2 on PS2
Or hell Gran Turismo 3 and 4 still look amazing.

Its about how well all the elements mesh together.

Yeah for as great as the Timm/Diniverse has always been it's the one wierd gross spot that I absolutely haven't been able to ignore. It didn't just start in The Killing Joke, they were doing that in the first seasons of TAS. Thought it was weird then before TKJ meme'd it to oblivion.

I think their budgets definitely show in the character rendering for sure but the use of RTGI and environmental design in Robocop is absolutely stunning and the grungy art direction of SWTD looks amazing on its own. Or Clair Obscur that was the other title I forgot to mention.

Channeling old Derek energy here beautifully. I love it.

Them gta 6 graphics tho by GAWD.
May 24, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Jason schreier had a great article on this a few weeks back where it wasn't the graphics but poor bloated management i think when indie games like still wakes the deep and robocop rogue city can look amazing using established tools something has gone seriously wrong with AAA development.

Are they still doing that thing where they like to hook up Bruce Wayne with Barbara Gordon? I'm still wierded out by that scene in the killing joke.

Best concert I went to was voodoofest 2017 in NOLA on my 21st birthday to see LCD Soundsystem and it was unbelievable. Blew everything else I had ever seen away. Saw them again at 3 points festival on my 26th birthday in Miami and I remember that because it was like a month after the gta 6 leak.

I remember playing this for the first time in 2010 and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would but maaaaaan the totally silent atmosphere kinda killed it for me. The jump from ps1 to ps2 was so massive that I dont think it'll ever happen again.

Slightly off topic but I played it in January and the art design is absolutely stunning. Kept me playing to the end.

Gta 4 is a brown Grey miserable game with less content, a smaller world, and more broken economy than its two direct predecessors.

Still one of my all time favorites.

I've been playing it recently
Online mode is still excellent too.

Probably my favorite criterion game. I tend to switch between Burnout 3 and revenge depending on my mood. I do think Hot Pursuit strikes a nice balance between open world and course racing by taking the map concept from burnout 3 and expanding upon it. Plus it looks AMAZING on an oled which is why

Ooh I've been playing Shadow of War myself.

Oh hell yeah! I fell off with dtoid many years ago when the site started turning into overwhelming adds and it kinda sucked because that was where I first had an online community. Cool to still see some people around.

Yo what's up ctg! I remember you from the OLD destructoid days.
