Considering their ability to lay (puke?) Eggs, they probably can since they need to get the stuff for the shell somewhere

Honestly I suspect if we get that complex of a narrative, it'd be a spin-off situation. As much as I like the lore and such, I don't see the main game telling us no outright to a hunt.
