Spot on and well-written review, very much mirroring my own experience with Shadows so far.

That was a wonderful read, just what was needed on a snowy Sunday morning. Thanks!

Halfway through, playing with a constant smile on my face. Such a delightful adventure!

Awesome!

Need the weekend to (hopefully) finish Stalker, should be ready for Indy on the 9th. What a way to end 2024, experiencing a new Indy adventure straight after Stalker, which has been such a tense thrill and is my personal GOTY. Happy times!

Loved that location! Fantastic, enthralling game.

Definitely. It has become an integral part of the experience for me. (Though I suspect that this sentiment for me can partly be traced back to me growing up very close to the Soviet border during the Cold War.) Astonishing game!

Yes indeed! Wonderful feature that makes such a difference (and fits nicely with the "this is an xbox"-narrative). 👍

Understandable, it was meant tongue in cheek but didn't come across that way. I regret the wording!

The headline is bait, for sure, most headlines are when you think about it, that is kind of their purpose. My point about the article itself and that it is worthy of actual discussion still stands. Why does that annoy you so much?
November 24, 2024 at 12:56 PM
And this is relevant in what way? You conveniently sidestep the point. The article raises a valid argument that is worthy of actual reflection, more so than a pile of dismissive replies of the type "usual pc gamer drivel/bait/L". Sorry if that was insulting!
November 24, 2024 at 12:29 PM
Or we could grow up, stop raging for silly reasons and take the time to actually reflect past the headline? Might even be good for us... 😀

We got a lot of great games for sure. The author doesn't dismiss that. He tells a different story, one I personally can relate to as I kind of feel the same way. Dismissing the article as bait and piling on it and the author merely illustrates your own inability to reflect outside your own box.

Certainly, it's shaping up to be a special year for everyone, regardless of platform and taste! 👍

2024 has been great for gaming, even though the PS exclusives have felt pretty meh for me personally (except Astro and SH2). Cocoon, Prince of Persia, Space Marine 2 and Shadow of the Erdtree are my own favourites so far.

Some bugs, sure, but all perfectly fixable. The important bits are all there. Gameplay, atmosphere, supremely interesting world and setting, all of which makes it very obvious what the experience will be. (Making the pettiness of the VGC review for instance all the more blatant.)

So many years, so many outstanding experiences. These are four relatively recent ones that summarises what I enjoy most. Could (should?) have included Ori (both) and PoP Lost Crown as well.
