I'm always baffled by some of Brandon's choices. Like Green Lantern, Superman, Deadpool/Wolverine have great art but feel like big nostalgic books, with a ton of continuity management but without much punch or themes, so far from my taste. But it's always a great listen

Finally the Damian conception story

And this is leaving aside the fact that trans people face a lot of restrictions in public spaces and sports institutions all over the world,so training to reach the highest level is a very rare possibility for them. It's a circle that keeps turning

It's all hypothetical because with current rules nearly all trans women already can't compete at Olympic level. And even a lot of intersex women/high-testosterone ones can't: after Caster Semenya's case, athletics and most of other sports instituted very strict hormones limits

Has Guggenheim written any good comics in the last 15 years? I can't remember anything really. And it's not like the Arrowverse was particularly good. I feel this is trending to be the worse version of Spectacular Spider-Men, with maybe the advantage that Andrews will stay more than Ramos

Oh and on the Peter reaction to May's ceremony: the scene on Ultimate Invasion makes it seem that the First change in Peter's life in 6160 is not being bitten. But in Ben's dialogue with him in issue 1 it says that Peter lived with his parents up until he was 15.

You were the closest but still went with the first CH as C and the second as K 😘
But it's not an easy name, the first times I misread it too I'm the same way, confounding him with an Italian producer Cecchetto

subtle way, even behind the Spidey mask. And imo pairs well with the tone of the book and Hickman's style of dialogue, where most of the characters are people trying to maintain a facade of perfection in front of the world. He's more cartoonish and expressionist with May since she's a child

I couldn't disagree more on your Checchetto's (note Ch in italiano Is pronounced as K) thoughts. He can be a bit static in his talking scenes, but he's very expressive. It's not over the top like a Bagley or some more manga style art, but he conveys a lot of emotions on his faces, even if in a more

The frustrating thing is that the story depicts Peter's choice as wrong, but we've got no consequences for that choice. He doesn't remember anything. So no chance to improve: neither hero finally winning over the devil, nor discovery of the pain and despair. Just the emptiness of the void

We've seen it in AF 15, but I'd argue he should have been a different kind of selfish after 60 years of stories. They chose to make him still chained to his trauma. Not my personal vision, I'd argue after Gwen, Clone Saga and stories like Blue he'd make a different choice but still fathomable

That one is on my "to read" list too. Blast is his best work but idk if there's an English version. Broderick's report too. But I loved very much Ordinary Struggle a very intimate story

Talking about emotions have you ever read any Lacernet's work?

In Italy they're usually called Euro-Manga and in comics shops and bookstores are either within the manga section (with manwhas etc too) or make a subsection of it, maybe put next to the Japanese much bigger part

Even in Italy Fantomas both inspired the most famous criminal of all our comics Diabolik and in ducks comics became Fantomius and was the inspiration of Donald's superhero alter-ego Paperinik (his firsts appearances are so good and silly)

I don't want to go too conspiracy theorist but I feel like the current editorial structure and requirements (2 issues a month + strict guidelines + must generate side minis etc) makes it nearly impossible for new writers. And that's why there are always the same 3 people
