golden's specifically the kind of kpop modeled after club boom era dancepop and there were a bunch of triplet hits from around that time (right round, cooler than me, womanizer) so maybe that's why? lots of great triplet dance songs in general (latch, tainted love, run away with me) so

there were definitely a lot this year (golden, ordinary, daisies, man i need + lose control, die with a smile and beautiful things lasting for an eternity). maybe it's cause triplet rhythms harken back to that more retro slow dance-y sound? wouldn't explain all of those tho. 12/8 is goated i get it
