Sorry, but this makes no sense... Is what the US administration doing lawful?

What gives the US the right to kidnap another country's leader? Nobody is willing to stand up to this wrongful act, and we're supposed to believe the 'criminals' here are the ones demonstrating in public?

you misunderstand, people fundamentally don't respect AI as a field because the tech industry constantly lies about AI capabilities, ignores ethics, and invites corruption

the bubble is set to burst pretty soon and tech workers will see a lot of the fallout, so you might want to prepare for that

(Sorry, in case you're confused, I should clarify, I'm referring to TGA's Future Class initiative which was discontinued, not an awards category)
December 12, 2025 at 3:05 AM
they're too busy giving awards to the most well-known studios & high budget titles

there's actually a pretty sizable boycott of TGA this year, in part for openly removing a category that could benefit small devs

The charm of this game was kind of ruined for me when I realized that nearly every rpg choice is simply about which method of opening doors you prefer.

Friends and I had a lot to say about how dull the quest narratives are, but tl;dr Morrowind is MUCH too high of a bar for Dread Delusion to clear.

the thing people don't seem to get is that this interpretation is more or less correct, like even down to the symbolism it's made very obvious that luffy is basically one piece jesus. it's just insane to hear this from peter thiel, a guy who himself resembles the antichrist

while I'm at it, look up Cosmo D and play every game he's made

pretty much everything here has been embarrassing, I don't think random social media gamers have enough exposure to culture to be prepared for a serious question about art

if you actually want an example I'd probably suggest playing despelote

So my verdict is that Silksong does a fairly good job if it was designed for casual audiences. It takes very little risk aside from the difficulty, but the challenge serves to make it stand out a bit with its fun controls.

(been a hobbyist game dev & level designer for ~11 years)
September 18, 2025 at 6:59 PM
I think Silksong is a shallow game that feels decent to control, isn't difficult to approach, but has very little to say. Is it too challenging for some casual players? Sure. Would there be much to talk about if it weren't difficult? I don't think so!
September 18, 2025 at 6:45 PM
This first question depends on who your audience is. I could say that bad game design is when your game isn't 'fun', but that's like saying Moby Dick is a bad novel because you don't like reading it.

Games that tackle complex themes are often designed with some amount of friction for players.

everybody I know in the tech industry realizes this is all bullshit, as soon as the bubble bursts they'll all do a 180 on how 'powerful' AI is and find a different reason to fire workers.

I wish I'd had a chance to meet Rito. I'm so sorry, Rose.

so w/ itch, as soon as the narrative became itch vs billionaire corporations, any attempt to hold them accountable for the power they have over artists who are financially dependent on them is going to be seen as a distraction

americans don't understand class & are extreme marks bc of it, basically
July 28, 2025 at 11:50 PM
I actually think this is hugely related to the social media trend of focusing on 'billionaires not millionaires'. If somebody is upper/middle class but otherwise friendly & somewhat politically aligned, you're supposed to forget that they're in a position that demands responsibility
July 28, 2025 at 11:40 PM
I had a similar convo earlier and I think itch was put in a very difficult position. I still hope for them to do better for the queer artists who depend on them. My point is that, for the artists, the end result is the same. We're only asking them to be more polite because we like itch more.
July 24, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Considering how small they are it's probably unreasonable to expect itch to make some revolutionary change here. I also think it's unreasonable to expect artists to accept being thrown under the bus so that itch can keep running. I'm not gonna tell them that they're wrong to complain, you know?
July 24, 2025 at 9:07 PM
I should be clear... I sympathize with the people running itch, but more than anything we're still creating these same dependencies on platforms and nobody who runs them has figured out how to protect queer artists from being censored.
July 24, 2025 at 9:03 PM
I know at the end of the day it's unreasonable to ask this from itch, so we can agree on that at least if you wanna move on
July 24, 2025 at 7:56 PM
I do think it's an emotional response and I want people to push back on visa/mastercard/paypal over anything else, I guess I'm just being utopian and hoping that we can eventually work up to building things that protect people from this stuff, rather than excusing why we couldn't, even in this case
July 24, 2025 at 7:54 PM
So I guess the question is.. how big would the company have to be before they're expected to hold accountability? At what point is the responsibility on the platform vs the artist? Can we blame the artists for being upset at the people directly responsible, knowing that they don't have full context?
July 24, 2025 at 7:41 PM
I think this is a matter of perspective. I do not feel like this situation is fair for itch, but I don't expect users to understand the reality of itch's situation when all they know is that itch has the power to delist their games in the same way that Steam/Epic do.
July 24, 2025 at 7:40 PM
I think you're being entirely fair, I'm just coming from the perspective that the power dynamic these places create aren't good for artists, even if itch can't be expected to solve everything itself
