Also, the notion that we do not move our hand from the stove because of the stimulus. We move our hand because of the PAIN. Ergo, pain (not the stimulus) seems to cause the hand removal.

Finding examples of mental states having causal powers has been a recent effort for me to pushback on phenomenology. Curious, do you think situations where we cannot recall a fact, but then can visualize a memory and can then recall the fact from the mental image are such examples?

I just listening your podcast with Sean Carroll and Barry Loewer. I am nodding heavily in agreement with you on your point on the information obtained by experiencing “pain” or “red”. Not a new label.
