Defiantly hopeful. Passionate about affordable healthcare access, even before earning my MPH. Ally, Christian (I follow the Jesus parts - love your neighbor (NO exceptions), Blessed Are the merciful, etc.).
If you want a chuckle, Google AI thinks the State Dept post is fake, because it can't tell the difference between Bluesky and Twitter/X.

They're here... or maybe not (Google AI thinks this is a fake account, but Google AI also doesn't seem to know the difference between Bluesky and Twitter/X, so take everything with a pinch of salt).

There was another speech that JFK never got to give that day - www.jfklibrary.org/archives/oth... - including the following:

Madison showed up, but I didn't have the angle to get a good idea of crowd size. It was very windy, but we got the sun breaking through the clouds. Some of my favorite signs, with more to come later.

Become the kind of leader that you would follow.

We miss your unwavering leadership - Representative Elijah Eugene Cummings (January 18, 1951 – October 17, 2019), activist, serving always with compassionate determination to better all lives.

And a link to the Statute (reminder: TFIC can't pardon state crimes)

I'm grateful for:

1) Time w/family.

2) The eternal hope that my MAGA relatives will wake up.

3) Memories of time with my sweet pups before they crossed the rainbow bridge.

The form has been mailed, with some minor commentary on the envelope. Now, to see if there's any response.

I have never served in the military (knew even as a child that underlying health conditions wouldn't permit it). I have never held a civil service position. But I am a Citizen - for me, that is 'office' enough.

This oath applies to me, too, and I hereby swear it.

The Second Bill of Rights that I quoted, I read about in Cass Sunstein's book of the same name. I think I need to read it again (it's been a while).

I can't march today, so I'm wearing the Navy Blue (even though in this photo it looks black) sweatshirt from my MPH alma mater.

I sent this letter to my Dem Senator tonight. I've removed the location info. If it describes your own feelings, feel free to use it.

FDR was far from perfect - but this Second Bill of Rights is the America I want. "Every American is entitled to..." This is the hope that keeps me moving forward.
January 31, 2025 at 7:59 PM
FDR wasn't perfect, but I still want to this vision realized that's been 80 years in the making.

For those who think it would keep people from being wealthy... no, it doesn't. It just means people can't grind others into the mud to build said wealth.

@aoc.bsky.social

I agree that the Democrats need a clear agenda (I just listened to your talk with Jon Stewart on The Weekly Show podcast). Could we include this (not for the whole plan, but a place to start)? It's been waiting 80 years:

I hear that. I mean, the chocolate would just be a perk, but who wouldn't want to keep our pups around longer?
January 23, 2025 at 1:39 AM
Watch and listen and you'll hear echoes of "It won't get that bad," and "Everyone *I* know will be fine." But, yes, it can get much worse. That's not cynicism, just history.

Take a deep breath, my friends. Don't panic, don't spiral. Stay informed, speak out, plan... and hug your family & pets.

Just remember, clouds can only hide the sun. They can't kill it. Move forward with determination, resistance and defiant hope, and the sun will keep shining, even if we can't always see it.

My photo from October serves as a constant reminder of this.
