What can you do to help replace Schumer with a vertebrate?
November 10, 2025 at 11:28 PM
I follow her too. I don’t know… my feeling is that it’s completely possible for some senators to be genuinely outraged and committed to holding the line while the caucus as a whole is following Schumer’s lead. That’s Ron Filipkowski’s take, anyway. From his Substack today:

This from his Substack today

Ron Filipkowski, but it’s possible I misunderstood him or the larger story. I’m open to being educated if you know something different.

I’m open to being educated… what do you know that I don’t?

You have betrayed the American people by refusing to stand firm. Step down. We want someone prepared to fight.
November 10, 2025 at 11:02 PM
We know, we know. What are you doing to replace Schumer with a vertebrate?
November 10, 2025 at 11:00 PM
We all agree. So what can you do to replace Schumer with a vertebrate?
November 10, 2025 at 10:57 PM
The caucus as a whole agreed to this deal, and people who are not running again, or were just elected, have agreed to take the fall as yes votes. Does that mean that the no votes could have somehow jammed the works? I’m not sure, but I do know that replacing Schumer with a vertebrate is overdue.

At this point my only question is: what the hell do we need to do to get Schumer out of there?
November 10, 2025 at 10:20 PM
What does fighting look like at this moment— and what is possible as long as Schumer is in a leadership position?
November 10, 2025 at 3:44 PM
We do understand how the caucus works, you know. I can’t praise you for holding firm as an individual because I know perfectly well that you are part of the collective agreement to cave.
November 10, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Good Lord man. Who benefits from this total failure to stand up to the bullies??
November 10, 2025 at 2:24 AM
Mr Schumer— hold fast: millions of people are praying that you don’t cave. Draw strength from us.

I come from a service family and was raised to think such conflations are beyond disrespectful to actual soldiers — nothing at stake in football but money and vanity
November 10, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Ah I see. Another instance of the old vile pretense that war is a game (it’s not) and athletes are soldiers (they aren’t, & they are better paid than the real ones).

That would make it sound like a military oath — he is, however regrettably, the Commander in Chief — but that still doesn’t make a damn bit of sense
November 10, 2025 at 12:02 AM
That definitely does not make it less weird to say “I, your name here, do solemnly swear”
November 9, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Why is he reading the oath of office??
November 9, 2025 at 11:54 PM
I left a blistering voicemail for Chuck Schumer that concluded with the observation that he is paid enough to have a spine installed.
November 9, 2025 at 11:25 PM
And it’s not like two grand is enough to offset even ordinary medical needs anyway!
November 9, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Yeah, it’s a familiar list. I’m so angry and disappointed right now.
