Ministers @darraghobrientd.bsky.social & Timmy Dooley approved to advance Marine Protected Area legislation in the Maritime Area Planning Act.

A General Scheme will now be prepared, which will need sign off again by gov, then legislation can be drafted.

While some of the team are at the UN Ocean Conference in France, others are working hard at home to inspire action for Ireland’s incredible ocean.

We emphasised the urgent need for Gov to publish the long-delayed Marine Protected Areas legislation, so actual restoration & conservation can begin.
