Paying more to pay monthly matters. Most respondents think it’s unfair that paying monthly costs more.

When asked:
📊 53% of car owners agreed
📊 79% of non-car owners agreed
November 20, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Amongst our key findings👇

🔺 Half of non-car owners said the cost of insurance stopped them from owning a car, even when they needed one.

🔺 A quarter of car owners cut back on other essentials to pay for car insurance.

Great to see the ESNZ Committee calling out the energy market for entrenching the poverty premium. The report supports our calls to get rid of the premium for paying on receipt of bill, and for an energy social tariff.

When the Financial Inclusion Strategy arrives, it must be bold, ambitious, and deliver tangible reductions in poverty across the UK.

Thanks to Martin Rhodes MP for raising the issue in Parliament.

Come join us at #LAB25 to discuss the Fair Banking Act.

Based on the Community Reinvestment Act in the US, it would ensure banks serve all sectors of the community so credit reaches those who need it most, at an affordable rate.
