Hi, my name is Sonic. You may remember me from such videogames as "Help, I kissed a human girl" and "Chaos Control: The hedgehog's guide to open carry permits".

They made FIVE Resistance games. A series that if recalled by anyone at all it would amount to "Oh yeah that was the PS3 launch game with the aliens in WW2, weird" and "I heard the PSP one was alright".

Thanks for the holiday gift John. Really enjoyed the video and everything else you've put out this year.

Has anyone else noticed that the small clips that play at the beginning and in between television shows all have products in them? It's like they're trying to convince me to buy the dang things >:(

Even a percentage increase per unit sold model would help indie devs and hardly make a blip on Valve's bottom line. A starting 15% of revenue take up to 1,000 copies sold and then increase to 20% for 5,000 etc.

It'll be interesting to see how their 'free market' approach to curation goes when there's no quality games left to rise through the noise.

It's plain short sighted. Valve does very little to help small devs and have coasted on others funding talented upstarts, sitting back and reaping the rewards with their monopoly. I think they're in for a rude awakening when the well of talented indie teams with outside funding inevitably dries up.
