I recently bought this lawn chair because it's beautiful and iconic. It's only temporarily here in my office; I don't dare sit in it because the aluminum frame would scratch up the soft pine floor in a heartbeat. OTOH, Emma can do whatever she wants.

A ginger tabby curled up asleep on an upturned grey wide-brimmed hat with the chin strap hanging out in front. The side of a pink/coral apartment/condo with Spanish red-tile roof. There are four windows near each corner of the side of the building with an exterior air-conditioning unit just inboard of each window. There are two slightly darker stripes further inboard of the A/C units and the street numbers, 4412, vertically to the right of the left stripe. There is a carport attached to the right side of the building. The sky is a brilliant blue. In Texas State Cemetery in Austin.
On a green cemetery lawn, a simple grey (granite?) tombstone that comes to a peak. It says, "BILL KUGLE Jan. 20, 1925 -- Dec. 27, 1992 HE NEVER VOTED FOR REPUBLICANS AND HAD LITTLE TO DO WITH THEM"

Here's another Degas, at The Met, with a "patron" hidden on the right. Note the difference in girth. Also notice a ballerina on the right listening in on whatever conversation is taking place. I stood in front of this painting for the longest before I saw the patron's silhouette.
Four Ballerinas in the foreground, possibly in between performances. One is messing with her hair, one with her costume, and the central one looks down at her, probably, aching foot. The last is on the far right apparently listening to the conversation. A black silhouette of a man in a tall hat can only barely be seen behind a post on the right. The background is orange, brown and yellow. The girls' dresses are a beautiful shade of green.

I took this photo in North Texas in the 1970s, probably with a Petri SLR.
A field of green grass occupies almost half of the bottom of the photo. In the middle is a large green tree and green brush that has apparently grown around an old red crane whose boom extends out of the greenery at a 45-degree angle. A black tire hangs from the end of the boom, but it touches the ground so it might have been a swing long ago. Off to the right in the distance are mobile homes for sale with a sign that says, "A 1." There are more green trees at the left of the photo and more, indistinct structures among them.

Digital signage at AUS. I LIKE it! Was glitching like this in a cycle for 5 seconds then totally black for another 5.
An ad that says at the top, "Welcome to Austin." Under that it says, "Michelob Ultra" and "All-star Austin." The remaining 3/4 of the image is distorted, presumably due to a hardware glitch.

I'm having a hard time remembering which particular painter this reminds me of. Maybe Tissot below. Wrong era, of course. But there's something about the crips black and white apparel that reminds me of someone.
Painting with colorful tapestries hung for a ceiling. There are standing ladies in white with black trim, sitting ladies in black and grey trim. Everybody is hatted. The floor is wooden. I believe this is an upper deck on a ship with the water and sailboats off to the left.
