It's only since moving to a much smaller town that I finally managed to secure six whole individual packs!! for -almost- original retail price. And that's only because the store is very careful about trying to avoid taking preorders from scalpers (ie, they only take requests on their discord).

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks they aren't bothering to out-print the scalper-driven demand like they did with 151 because some collectors could be tempted to spend cash on TCG Pocket if they can't find actual cards. TPC gets a sold out printing, AND in app purchases. Win-win! 🤪😭

It's awful. This is the first time since '98 I've been unable to buy pokemon cards. Everything at retail price is snatched up (+ online by bots), and stores that do get any price at over two times the original cost because they can get away with it (since scalpers have been selling at 3x the value).
