We live by the sea and make things and seek the sacred. 💖
We've made so many more tiny painting pendants recently!

I'm behind on this thread and had better catch up. Here is one of Fae's creations! These kinds of pendants, we usually sell for around $25-30, plus or minus a bit for complexity of design. We sometimes repeat themes and motifs but each is a new, wearable piece of pictorial art in itself.

I just made this at the beach! Red agate, amethyst, copper, pearl and glass crystal. Love these new agates. They're chonky, glittery and feel nice in the hand.

"...And I turned back around and everyone had their hands up in the air with their palms forward and my life flashed before my eyes! I thought, oh no, I'm the new professor and I'm from Germany! This is terrible! What if a janitor walks in! I'll be ruined!

"... Anyway, keep your hand AT YOUR DESK!"

Anyway, when he teaches the right-hand rule for analyzing vectors to a new class, he says, "DO NOT hold your arms UP! I made a bad mistake in my first year teaching this class..."

"... So, I taught everyone the rule, then I turned around to write a problem on the blackboard..."

Here is a sculpture, "Gestation III", that looks like metal from a distance but is wood, and channels the light of sunset at the Winter Solstice. "Dedicated to all who work to heal our planet."

It is near the Palisades fire perimeter, within an evacuation zone. May it ever hold strong.

Here is a necklace I made - I'll have to check the exact measurements, but it's medium length, built with sterling silver and fine silver, labradorite and faceted black onyx. It could be yours for $80, if you like.

Here is a building near Venice Beach, scaffolded and forgotten: but not forgotten by the morning glories.

Here I am in a dress I painted for myself. Base is a cotton sundress from Land's End. This is one of my favorite pieces to wear to events. Not for sale, but if you want something similar, we can talk - this type of design would run between $45 and $75.

So in this thread, I'll be sharing things we've made, but also those we've seen or found.

The other day some people stood near our pop-up booth, watching the sunset. "Every day," one of them said, full of emotion. "I live here, and - it's always this beautiful. Every day." Reader, I teared up too.

There is so much strange beauty on this earth, making art about it would almost seem superfluous - but what we're really making art about is the emergent property, beauty at the crossroads of nature and human meaning.

For every like, a bit of strange beauty, maybe made, maybe found.
