hey former/current IT folks! what's your exit strategy from the industry? we're at a point where it feels like the industry is doing more harm to our mental health than providing life stability, and we really need some broad ideas on shifting to something else in the short to medium term.

sometimes we wonder what would've happened to the version of us that was homeless and almost living in a drainage channel all those years ago. nothing good mind you, but would we have pulled us out of that if it'd happened or even still be alive? the paths not taken are always interesting...

always annoying having to make this post, but every damn time a bit of stress starts up, the gatekeepers start fucking eating themselves and those around them >.>
as usual, the “we can misgender them because _____” crowd, and the gatekeepers in general, can go fuck themselves. just because someone’s awful doesn’t mean you get to strip them of who they are as a person. tear them down for what they’ve done, and stop putting your siblings in the crossfire.
