talking about FFXIV when the billboard drama happened because it went so wide, and now many of them are modmakers / gposers. At the end of the day, square is a business, and FFXIV does eat up a /shocking/ amount of underperformance for them. As long as it remains such, they won't piss off the users.

I think, that if anything, this will cause square to bat at penumbra instead of anticheat. I frankly don't think they'd bother with it - they'd go after the sources, so either the dev or, way more likely, penumbra. Whether that's shift things around in the backend or DMCA penumbra

Will be the fatal dagger that people are making it out to be; the only thing that's different from this versus scraping lodestone, afaik - is the fact it uses in game data (AccountID and CharacterID). I /am/ interested in what data is found, as far as clear rates, mount / relic collection, et cetera
