Fadhel Kaboub, president of the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity, argued that "Africa cannot transition by importing clean technology while exporting its minerals in an unprocessed state; that would merely repeat colonial dependency under a green label." nation.africa/kenya/climat...
Africa's vast solar potential held by a $23 Billion annual funding gap

The economist Fadhel Kaboub, who advises developing nations on climate, argues this is not “because of political will, but because the economics of renewables is winning”. Africa, he says, can generate about 1,000 times the electricity it will need in 2040 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Kaboub stressed the need to transform the global economic and geopolitical hierarchy to move away from colonial structures designed for extractive purposes towards a multi-polar world with the Global South at the center of the international economic order.

the insanity that is replicating the mistakes from the past, this is not late capitalism, but brazen capitalism in the face of millions not making enough money for food, yet the market bet on technologies that will mostly permanently damage the social fabric and bring unemployment.

SNAFU indeed.
