I’m recovering well, according to my post-op, and I’m slowly getting my energy back. But it’s the kind of energy that a cat gets when they have the zooms for fifteen minutes and then need a five-hour nap after.

This is one of my favorite perfume notes. I just love the smell of books and there are so many good perfumes. I mentioned Commodity Book and Paper in another post - those are pretty literal, but very fun for a minimal vibe.

Day 7: Literary (MY BELOVED)

I love books, love to smell like books. I have far too many for this prompt, including perfumes based on books. I paired down to literal book and ink scents that span vibes.

A crime I haven’t full-sized Old Books yet - it’s a library in spring with the windows open.

Day 6: Milk

Milk is another smaller represented note in my collection, as it tends to show up in gourmands, which I largely avoid. But I have a few! I think I prefer Milk+ over Expressive, but it’s less versatile. Cow is very, very beautiful, but I do wish it lasted longer on my skin.

Day 5: Cedar

(Ignore that I mixed up Ralph’s EDT and EDP in the photo, lol)

I don’t have many perfumes that feature cedar in the starring role, which clearly I should change (recs very welcome!). The smell reminds me of calm forests and library shelves. It’s my favorite incense to burn.

Day 4: Musk, my beloved

One of my favorite notes, I have too many to possibly name, so I chose a few that showcase different vibes. Alkemia’s musk is beautiful, and the single note is currently on clearance, so I grabbed one for layering.

Also Zoologist’s Musk Deer, which I forgot to include.

Day 3: Tea

I love a tea note, so not surprising that I have many options here. Absolutely need to fill-size the Alkemia, it’s a beautiful dark and stormy scent.

Sleepy Eyes was the start of my Hex Mundi addiction; this house has some wonderfully dark and unusual fragrances.

It really is. Some of the perfume subreddits are pretty welcoming, but others (r/cologne lmao) are eye-rollingly bad at times. Tumblr likes to pretend it’s super accepting, but their communities are often just as bad.

My Guerlains sit happily next to my Bath & Body mists. 😂

Day 2: Amber

Not a note I specifically seek out, I had to dig to find where it’s center stage. Pierrot’s Vampyr is pure golden Amber, musky, sweet, intoxicating.

Ambre Aquae is a watery floral take, soft and meditative.

Midnight Spell is a gothic amber flanked by sugar crystals and ozone.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! No drains on me, my surgeon doesn’t like the complications. I have some uncomfortable swelling as a result, but I’ve heard the drains are a nightmare. I’m just keeping up on the pain meds and trying to rest a lot. :)

I love DedCool. They’re very minimalist in a good way. I have a few samples from them but should sample more. I can’t decide which one I want to full-size first.
