It’s not as simple as that though, when a lot of studios use an in-house engine it basically means the studio that develops it must provide a lot more tech support for implementing new features and what not, I don’t think id soft wants to do that
Also allegedly id tech is very hard to work with

Also I think the reason why they think it is acceptable is that people just forget to complain about a problem if it only affects the first match of the dozens they play
You’re expected to play the same content over and over on the same map so players just suffer through the first match and go on

True! How can they expect other developers to solve the PSO compile stutters when they can’t even get their own flagship game to run smoothly. Clearly their precaching solution is not even remotely good enough.

Can relate, but more in a sense of needing some mysterious fruit that doesn’t exist to not get tired after 2 minutes of work
