Attempted to put my excitement at this “change moment” of a book, into “formal words”… But the idea here is that understanding and acting in systems design-evolution is distributed, and we need to share in “better ways” of doing that, and Andrew’s book argues for, and guides, that kind of shift.
"[Andrew's book] is a wonderful guide to the kind of decentralized and participative architecture decision making needed to steward the evolution of complex software-intensive systems." - Ruth Malan @ruthmalan.bsky.social

Definitely! They are perfect companion pieces, right @kenny.weave-it.org ?
Arrived in the post!

I've been having a lot more architectural & advice conversations, sessions and workshops with teams in the last couple of years.
I think they've gone well, but I feel a need to level up.

This and @facilitatingswarch.bsky.social should help a bit! 🤞

12 in-person conferences in the space of 8 months… wow! Sadly, I won't be speaking at as many conferences in 2025. If you want me to speak or run a workshop at your conference in 2025 please get in touch.

Should this tour list be a t-shirt? 😂

Open Spaces, especially those convened by @bruceeckel.bsky.social in Created Butte are the third inspiration for what eventually became my book.

It turns out trust can get you a long way.

If you let it.
Self-organization & the power of collectives are deeply misunderstood. First encountering them in open spaces curated by @bruceeckel.bsky.social, I was mesmerized.

"[Software Architecture] is very much about ensuring that conversations that need to be happening are happening—not always initiating them, nor always helping to focus or navigate them, but ensuring they do happen and guiding when needed"

These are essential skills, and when you learn from @tekiegirl.bsky.social you are *literally* learning from the person who wrote the ( @oreilly.bsky.social ) book.

Treat yourself. (That training budget must get reset at the end of the year too...)
❓How do you get your message across in a diagram? 💡Join me to learn the answers to this and so many more questions about software diagrams.

This is a course for developers, architects, BAs, technical writers and more.
