A bunch of mostly very small meringue cookies on a baking tray. These are all slightly pink to indicate they have a raspberry flavouring added. Meringue cookies, mostly small to very small. There's yellowed white ones that are all blobs, and pinkish ones that are mostly blobs but also done in more experimental shapes. None of them are particularly pretty, but they're very crunchy!

Wasn't too difficult to fix it back up, but took some of my valuable time.
Didn't feel like my day today - I messed up quite a few prieces of lead came - but eventually I got the hardest part done!

Work in progress of a stained glass window. About half of the pieces have been set in the lead came now. Those pieces are mostly reds and oranges that form the background, but the white pieces that make up the body of the ballerina half of the figure are also already partially set. Underneath the pieces of glass and lead is the base drawing of the design Same glass project as the previous picture, but a lot of pieces have been moved - it seems purposefully done, as project is quite messed up. Luckily no pieces are broken or missing

Got to work in the workshop again yesterday. Rather productive day (well, three hours)!
There's only a few moments left for me to finish this, but if it goes as smoothly as it did today, I should be able to get it done :D

The Red Line March ( #RodeLijn) was amazing. My legs are sore as hell but the protest was good! Great weather, great atmosphere and a huge crowd! Over 100.000 people showed up, making this the biggest Dutch protest in at least two decades.
We need more, of course, but this was very, very good.

(the quote is written in Dutch and attributed to MLK. The quote is actually by Edmund Burke, although MLK has said very similar things)

Okay well, every glass maker with even the tiniest bit of experience working with lead came knows you always have to grind some more when you get to the came stage

Far from done, but I'm working on this!
For me, it's been really good to work on something creative (that doesn't involve digital design work) again and it keeps me active!
I've accomplished so much more just cause I am doing my best with crafts again :)
Stained glass - work in progress. The design shows a human figure, half female ballet dancer, half male soldier. It's a depiction of the Standfast Tin Soldier. Surrounding the figure are coloured pieces. Blue and water-like on the soldier's side, with curved lines. Red and fire-like on the dancer's side, with straight lines. The pieces are not set in led yet as rhey first have to be grinded to the perfect size and shape.

A band of six male presenting people. One of the vocalists/guitarists is hidden behind a pillar and the drummer is obscured too. The stage is kinda small and can be taken apart. It's set up in the lounge part of the building and the lighting on the stage is purple. Outside, it's clearly still very sunny.

Today was good. Worked on my #stainedglass project some more, had a boba break, saw Kameyo live for a small show and got home in time to hopefully get enough sleep for a busy weekend 💙

Made myself a big cup of tea, lit some candles, brought cookies and I'm starting a new book.
I finished Stormbreaker (Alex Rider 1) in German (I'm awful at German) and now I'll be reading Printempa terura, an Esperanto original book by Julian Modest

Chair, turned upside down. It is partially taken apart. A white hand is holding a seam ripper, used for the taking apart A pillow on a different chair with several tools on it. Scissors (big and small), the seam ripper, box cutter, a screwdriver and wire cutter. Those last two were essential for removing the 80-ish nails on the bottom of the chair

Work in progress of a stained glass piece. It is a figure, consisting of half ballerina and half soldier (who's missing half his leg). They are the character from the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The steadfast tin soldier". The soldier is surrounded by blue pieces with bubbly and watery texture and curved shapes. The ballerina is surrounded by geometric fiery shapes in reds and oranges. These backgrounds refer to the fairy tale. The soldier falls into the water and eventually they both end up in the flames. The ballerina, whl is made of paper, burns up, whereas the tin soldier melts away intk the the shape of a heart. The original school assignment asked for a design with contrast, which I why I chose the fire and water. I picked the story because it's one of my favourites.

Okay I shouldn't be harsh on myself as I haven't cut glass in 5 years. But wow am I bad at this! I can fix most of it in post (aka grinding all the excess off) but mm that's gonna be a lot of work lol
Cutting into a beautiful hide is pretty scary and can be very scary too, but glass is TERRIFYING
The same stained glass work in progress, but now all pieces have been cut. The warm toned pieces are placed onto the paper in the right spots, all puzzled together.
