Hi! Fabric here.

We’re church, for the rest of us. Church for people who don’t like church. A community for those giving up on God or the Church.

However you label us, we’re so glad to be in this space to tell a bit about our story. To learn about yours. To recognize divine love in all of it. 🫶♥️🏳️‍🌈
We begin a new series today: “The Sandbox.”

What if we could recognize the walls we’ve inherited or built are actually just lines drawn in sand? And what if many of the things of life, relationships, or even “faith” were more like that too— sandboxes rather than fortresses?

This feels like a good moment to enjoy music, be with others, and get out of our own heads a bit, doesn’t it?

If you agree, and want to try something new out, come by Field Elementary in Mpls every Sunday this month at 10:30!

Free shows. Life woven deeply. Church for the rest of us.

We're eager to begin our next Sunday morning series this Sunday (February 2):

"FabricTV+" will explore the theme of HONESTY. What happens when we take an honest look at ourselves, and our relationships with all others and with God?

During week 1, we'll dive into "The Good Place." See you there!

Whether it's new-age "manifesting" or praying to a god of cash & prizes, there's an underlying assumption that we need to achieve divine approval to gain worthiness.

What would it be like to trust that what we need has already been given to us, and that we can rest into the seasonality of life?

What's your experience with "manifesting?" Our curiosity is piqued by this recent pop-spirituality phenomena... and how similar it can feel to prayer to a vending-machine god.

We're in our "wintering era" as Fabric... maybe it's worth wondering about what has already been made manifest?

Is the so-called "sacred-secular divide" worth the power it's given by both religious communities and critics of religious organizations? It seems like a bit of a false choice... maybe everything is sacred, and nothing is all that "holy." Maybe God is in all of it. www.fabricmpls.com/blog/2025/1/...

🗓️ Jan 12: “Give Up Manifesting”

Much of the popular “manifesting” language lately sounds similar to televangelist prayers to a vending-machine god. How can we re-think this trend in both pop-christianity & pseudo-spiritual materialism w/ consideration for what has *already* been made manifest? 🤔

It’s a new year, but do you get the feeling you’re being encouraged to find something new by grinding away in the same old ruts? Rather than denying our own seasonality and working so hard in the winter, what would it be like to “Give Up” and be embraced by the gifts of cozy, slow, dark, stillness?

Does it feel to you that most calls for “peace” are actually a call for control, at great cost to others?

That’s a kind of peace I can’t buy into.

Who gives a fig for peace without space for conflict?
