An old man crossing the stream. Keeping a promise.
Oh, and you'll love Flora, she's like Theo's daughter..! She's quite tech-savvy, I've heard!
December 2, 2025 at 11:25 PM
Oh, most definitely! Theo loves secrets and puzzles, so that would be wonderful for him! Especially if there's some he hasn't found yet.
December 2, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Haha, alright..! I'm sure Theo's going to love seeing the train again.
December 2, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Pfft— acoustic? Do you mean autistic?
December 2, 2025 at 10:51 PM
I don't see why not! I'm looking forward to introducing you to everyone at home as well.
December 2, 2025 at 10:29 PM
We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose!
December 2, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Hm, maybe... I'm not sure, because— well, no, actually! Probably not.

Do you recall when Desmond passed through to give a note to Hershel? I believe he stayed young the whole way over.
December 2, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Well, if we go based on our birth years, you are! But you're 14 and I'm in my 40s right now, so that's a whole different story, haha!
December 2, 2025 at 9:57 PM
We'll make sure you get to be older than we are now, okay?

(He chuckled softly.)

Of course it does, my dear, you don't have to worry about that anymore.
December 2, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Seems there is such a thing as being too careful, haha..! Thank you for being patient with me, my dear..
December 2, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Alright, I will, haha...

I'm sorry if I've ever made you feel like you were doing something wrong... I suppose I've been nervous about being a dad and being overly cautious, haha...
December 2, 2025 at 7:31 PM
(He chuckled softly before leaning back some to wipe any tears from her face.)

Sorry, hah... I'll try to get less weird about stuff soon, alright..?
December 2, 2025 at 6:42 PM
And you're mine...

(He tried to not hug even tighter, sniffling again.)
December 2, 2025 at 6:34 PM
I know h-how much it all means to you... to hear you say y-you would give up such a dream for me... for us... I-I can't help but be overwhelmed...

I love you, my dear, w-with my whole heart...
December 2, 2025 at 5:51 PM
(He just sniffled and hugged her tighter as Hershel set a hand on his back.)
December 2, 2025 at 5:37 PM
(He stared surprised for a moment before pulling her into a hug, his voice trembling slightly.)

I would give anything, my dear... our daughter...
December 2, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Now I'm sitting on the couch with my now fiancé and a wonderful girl who wants to be our daughter... who has made it clear she wants this almost as much as she wants to walk on the moon and touch the stars.

What more could I possibly ask for..?
December 2, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Well, I used to want one of my own... when I was really young. Long before I met a boy named Elijah on summer vacation.

After that, I realized it would never be in the cards for me specifically, because two men can't make their own baby.

So I gave up that idea before I even turned 15.
December 2, 2025 at 5:06 PM
You can't be a daughter wrong, ny dear. There's a million and one ways to be someone.

I suppose that goes for me as well... I often worry I'm being a dad all wrong. But neither of us have blown anything up yet, so I'd say we're doing fine.
December 2, 2025 at 4:53 PM
(He wrapped an arm around her shoulders.)

If being your dad had ever upset me, I would've said something far sooner. And you don't have to be related to be family.

With helping you get changed, it's... a personal thing. I suppose my parents drilled the idea into my head, but I'm not certain...
December 2, 2025 at 4:46 PM
(He shot a wide eyed glance at Hershel before looking to her.)

Of course I do, mijn sterrenkind. Why do you ask?
December 2, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Any time, dear.

(He and Hershel settle on either side of her with their own mugs, sipping quietly and watching the fire grow.)
December 2, 2025 at 4:25 PM
(With a soft chuckle, he handed her a sizeable mug with a good amount of marshmallows beginning to melt on top.)

It's still a bit hot but that should warm your hands up in the meantime.
December 2, 2025 at 4:12 PM
(He came in carrying a few mugs on a tray, setting them on the coffee table.)

Sorry for being a little weird... I figured we could all warm up with some cocoa?
December 2, 2025 at 4:04 PM
It's improper— the only girl I've helped change was my sister, and that was when she was much younger than you.

(Hershel settled her on the bed and moved to collect her pyjamas.)
