Both have me chewing on the relationship between history, memory, and nostalgia; as well as our ability or responsibility to be witnesses or agents of change.

I will pick it up again — got about 1/3 of the way through this past summer before the library made me return it.
Lynch’s prose is compelling.

Bright, warm light, silence or the muffled hum of others’ coffee house conversations, and layers of wool to keep the shivers at bay.

Hooray for getting that beautiful language in their mouths!
