I think the only way these people will be convinced to stop the genocide is by realising it's hurting their own ingroup. This is why BDS is so important.

I'm sure smarter people have noticed this phenomenon and given it a fancy name but it's an incredibly effective way of never feeling empathy for a particular group.

Whatever terrible thing Israel does, it doesn't register in their minds as a crime done by Israel. It is always Hamas. IDF could literally [redacted] [redacted] little children and [redacted][redacted][redacted] and the people would still say it was Hamas. Any blame for anything gets put on Hamas.

I used to believe that there will be a point when the IDF's cruelty becomes so apparent and unhinged, everyone will be able to point out that this is wrong. I don't believe that anymore.

I do, however, agree with the sentiment that people in swing states who didn't vote (or voted Green) because of the Palestine-issue, are poopooheads who made the situation worse.

Yeah I never expected her to make a video on the topic, as it's not really her style. But I'm somewhat unpleasantly surprised that this is why she's never touched on Palestine altogether. Then again, I'm always unsure about how much "speaking out" you can realistically expect from public figures.

I mean, I disagree a lot with what she said. I think it's incredibly defeatist and cynical to say that the pro-Palestine movement has achieved nothing meaningful and that advocating for a free Palestine is a lost cause. Then again, I don't think this makes her "the enemy" imo, just wrong.
