Still on the side of history.
The Lettuce and her fellow travellers are far right ideologues - and, despite their claims, deeply unpatriotic. Ditto Farage et al

Today, 2 February, is Candlemas, a mid-winter celebration of light in northern climes - but also a celebration of snowdrops aka candlemas bells.

From 1990s, but recommend Peter Hoeg's prize-winning novel 'Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow'. Great story but covers some of the complexities of Greenland's relations with Denmark. Film, too, as 'Miss Smilla's Sense of Snow'.

I can feel a re-reading/ re-watching of "Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow' (Peter Hoeg) coming on...
Great story & includes something of the complexities of Greenlandic-Danish relations.

Wondering who to vote for in Labour's NEC election? Below are candidates who know how to keep the Tories out, and how keep the party focused and fresh without descending into internecine squabbling or carping from the sidelines. 🇬🇧

Numpty UK PM Sunak's car crash diplomacy as he refuses meeting with Greece's PM over decades-old debate re Elgin Marbles/Parthenon Sculptures. 🤦‍♀️.

On winter-warming treats, though. Bring lebküchen to UK supermarkets! 🎄🎄🎄
And no auto-translators, it is not 'gingerbread'. Lebküchen are an altogether different taste experience.

Of Alexandria, Egypt, and only 17-18 years old, Catherine is said to have prevented her own torture on a 'breaking wheel' (to break her bones) by causing it to shatter. She was beheaded instead c.305.

Talking Pictures TV, TPTV, is the friendliest free-to-air UK TV channel: run by father & daughter for lovers of film/TV history, much loved for the memories. It's made the shortlist of 4, now up against Netflix and BBC iPlayer! Do vote for them to win! (By voting on other Qs, too.)
