Exactly, just to have a little stash of material on hand from when the inspiration does hit, but you can’t do anything with it right then and there. Then when you find yourself struggling, you can review your recordings for ideas; sometimes they’re trash, but sometimes they help, lol.

While I certainly covet the skills of some artists, I do love that there’s no “wrong” when it comes to art. No one can tell you that your vision is in incorrect because it’s all subjective. Some will like it, some will not, but if it made you happy to create it, then that’s all that really matters.

You might already do this, but when a random melody pops into my head at an inopportune time, I find it helpful to hum a quick recording of it on my phone so I won’t lose it when I have time to elaborate on it later.
Trying to do that covertly in public can be a challenge, I’ll admit, lol.
