Surprising fact: There’s no correlation between a circuit’s speed and the length of its longest straight.

Why?
-Faster circuits often have multiple (shorter) straights. Sometimes a long straight is the only straight.
-Corner speeds are at least as important.

Surprising F1 stat:

Only 1 French F1 driver has ever has a Grand Slam… and it’s not Prost.

Anyone else notice the God-awful “waving” of the chequered flag?
Starting to think the FIA should run a training course on this…

Good news: Lawson’s Q1 deficit to VER is gradually improving.

Bad news: His Q1 times are worse than Pérez, Albon and Gasly at this stage of their Red Bull career.

Williams were fined for not realising their onboard cameras needed a memory card.

The team were disappointed to learn the floppy disks they used in their PCs last year were incompatible. 😅

Stats from season openers since 1994:

-Driver on pole finished in top 2 of championship ~90% of the time
-A driver that wins from pole has even better odds
-But the 1st race is less important than it used to be

People are writing Ferrari off already. 😂

If this is you please take a look at the 2024 opener qualifying results. It’s a long season. #f1

I always love how the 1st qualifying throws up surprises.

A Racing Bull and a Williams ahead of both Ferraris!? Why not!
Is it representative or a fluke? Who knows! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Is it just me, or is the F1 trailer just a compilation of the 2 drivers pushing each other and spinning on track?

Hamilton has 8 poles in Australia, but just 2 wins.
A bit of a bogey track for him.
