reminds me of when anthropic announced they removed all guardrails from claude, gave it a tool to fake call the police then asked it how to do crime and it tried to report them and everyone acted like the claude you interact with could just call the police on you randomly

local power is so underrated, a nature reserve near my house had it's bin service shut down due to funding (bin collection/maintenance) I went to one local council meeting and complained and they started the service back up and it's been running for 2 years since

can something be both an act of protest and terrorism?
July 6, 2025 at 11:15 AM
no it means spraying paint from modded fire extigushers into the engines specifically to cause mechanical issues, I think we probably agree that it's an acceptable action in the face of a genocide but I don't put it in the group of protesting
July 6, 2025 at 10:50 AM
who's boot am I licking when I'm directly saying their actions were justified and the government is in the wrong?
July 6, 2025 at 10:29 AM
I did the exact opposite in those couple sentances
July 6, 2025 at 10:28 AM
also just to be clear you would say a group that breaks into a military base and sabotages military equipment to further their political goals are just protesting?
July 6, 2025 at 10:25 AM
(2/2) the british government suppressing peoples ability to support direct action, the genocide going on is abhorant but the governments actions here are not i/p it's part of a longer standing tradition of the UK government not allowing people to support direct action
July 6, 2025 at 10:24 AM
As I said earlier in the thread I support the protestors and direct action to help with palestine both domestically and abroad, but the governments actions aren't unique to i/p they've done the exact same to other direct action groups in the past - people shouldn't ignore the larger issue of (1/2)
July 6, 2025 at 10:24 AM
A group that tresspassed on, vandelised and then sabotaged military equipment to further their political goals is not a terror group? also they didn't just paint stuff they put paint inside of the fuel tanks - their intention was to destroy military equipment domestically
July 6, 2025 at 10:01 AM
I personally disagree with it but I understand it a more historic example is the animal liberation front, it isn't a i/p bias in the government our government has just always considered a lot of direct action terrorism and you cannot publically support terrorism in the UK (2/2)
July 6, 2025 at 9:53 AM
palestine action was designated a terror group after they broke into a military base and vandalised miltary property, they also sabotaged military equipment by putting paint in the fuel - regardless of if you agree or disagree the rule has always been you cannot support terror groups (1/2)
July 6, 2025 at 9:51 AM
isn't it because they publically showed support for a terrorist group? the protestors not supporting a terror group did not get arrested correct?
July 6, 2025 at 9:09 AM
for context on the arrest ( www.lbc.co.uk/news/uk/poli... ) the uk government has braned palestine action as a terror group in response to them recently breaking into a military base and vandalising miltary equipment to further their political goals
Retired priest, 83, among 29 Palestine Action supporters arrested under Terror Act hours after government bans group
An 83-year-old retired priest is among the 29 people arrested after Palestine Action supporters staged a silent protest on Parliament Square, hours after the group was formally prescribed a terrorist ...
