For weeks Ive been seeing radar systems taken out in Crimea. Also many have been diverted to protect the Caspian. I wonder to what extent the radar has been diminished in Crimea?

It would have been nice to have tried to strike the drone operators (a higher value target).. but I suppose its better to protect the life of Ukrainians by taking out a loaded drone that was ready to take off and could have been used to killed Ukrainians.

Those fires must be enormous judging from the long distance its filmed from.. and the fact the fires still appear so large.

I was here to make the same comment!

Its fascinating that Armenia would choose to import its fuel from Azerbaijan.. a long time enemy and someone they were at war with only a year or so ago.. over Russia. It seems Russian influence in that area has faded.

I agree it "could" be repaired.. but depending on the age/ condition of the ship it may not be feasible. Many of those shadowfleet vessels are rust buckets and barely seaworthy. Add a bunch of damage to them and the cost of the repairs could surpass the value of the ship. This one took several hits.
December 20, 2025 at 12:43 AM
You are right.. however I think the risk was minimalized to the smallest extent by hitting only the equipment atop the deck and choosing not to strike the hull or attempt to sink the vessel. The ship is still seaworthy yet will be inoperational for oil transport indefinitely Im sure.

Not to mention even hitting a cope cage 15' from a submarine would likely cause major damage and put the sub out of commision Id think.

Proximity fuses detect the actually target because thats what gives off the main radar signature. It may be possible but not sure feasible to equip drones with radar so advanced it could pick up wire mesh. It seems it would be incredibly costly to design a drone with something usually in aircraft.

That statement is still incorrect. You are reading your map wrong. Russia only borders the Caspian on the North West corner. Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are on the East. Iran on the South and Armenia on the West. Most of the the other countries on the Caspian are vital trading partners for Russia.
December 13, 2025 at 2:27 AM
I dont understand Russian but it sounds as if the Russians filming are cheering the strike. Am I wrong?
December 12, 2025 at 1:46 PM
I dont think this is accurate. It says it was a shahid drone. A shahid drone north of Moscow? It was likely a Ukrainian drone that was brought down by Russian EW interference.
December 12, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Your statement is very inaccurate. Ukrainian drones have hit targets much farther than the Caspian Sea. So yes they have access to it. Also Russia uses the Caspian sea for trade with Iran.. which is where it gets a large amount of weapons including Shahid drones. The Caspian is a major trade route.
December 12, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Thats a large area. Curious if any estimates of the number of Russian soldiers surrounded have been announced?
December 12, 2025 at 1:11 PM
I was about to make the same comment. There will be a time when the web is so thick those in the forest will basically have a canopy of protection as attacking drones just get tangled in the web.

Reagan would support almost nothing that Trump does. Reagan did what he did for true peace.. not for money, power, notoriety, or an award of a peace prize.

You may be right. In English theres a term "vocatives" which mean filler words we put in or on the end of sentences that dont need to be there like bro, man, dude. We just kinda throw em in. That may be what hes doing.
December 6, 2025 at 1:56 PM
I tried two different translators and they both said in Chechen don means "You". I think hes using it to emphasize his threats.
December 6, 2025 at 1:45 PM
I used a Chechen translator and it say the word Don means "You". I dont know for sure but maybe Chechen sentences are structured differently? For instance instead of "You go to the store" maybe they say "Go to the store you". Or perhaps to emphasized his sentences such as YOU will pay.

They are insured in most cases in order to pass through the waters of other countries.. but the insurance is questionable.
December 5, 2025 at 1:09 PM
If your passing through the waters of another country you would need to show that you are insured in case of an accident.. much like if your pulled over and have no insurance on your car. If your not insured you could be denied entrance to other countries waterways or ports.
December 5, 2025 at 1:01 PM
In most cases yes they are insured. But because the international market generally would not insure them they had to resort to other options. There are some shady insurance firms in Cameroon and Kyrgyzstan which give them policies (but who knows if they would even pay out in an accident).

During the first 10 seconds of the video it appears there are 3 fires burning in different parts of the refinery.. am I wrong?
November 29, 2025 at 1:25 PM
I was thinking the same. You would think Ukraine would be worried of its grain ships being hit in retaliation.. they must be confident in their defences.
November 29, 2025 at 1:22 PM
That looks more than "reportedly".. With that video Id probably have to say confirmed.
