I love so many but special shout-out to 1) the rufous-sided towhees that visit my parents every year and 2) the phoebe I saw teaching its babies (all in a little row) how to zip around and catch gnats in the evening

saw this as a midnight movie and the scenes in the “Cleveland” science lab were filmed in the old California Academy of Sciences building (now moved) and I was viscerally transported into my childhood when I recognized the carpet and taxidermied animals, iykyk

My mom always says that she wants her ashes to be mixed with the ashes of the four family dogs we’ve lost over the years — good to know I can probably sneak those in there and not get called on it
