Celebrating the best of our moment. One day at a time.
Can you help me on this? I find it relevant to "Death by Lightning" Obvs you'd like to not have informed people replaced by dingbats, but don't we want the President to be able to replace dingbats with informed ppl. OR

Are there other ways to replace dingbats?

Thanks! And that does reframe the qualification statement. Have a lovely day.
December 8, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Why is that qualifying? Isn't the role of SCOTUS only to deal with constitutional matters?

please god no

The dumbest people doing dumb performative things

This is a well documented issue. School boards continually lower graduation requirements because their sole KPI is graduation rates.

Just get the kids out.

It's not just mathematics. It's reading. It's science.

LAUSD tactics to push students to graduate leaves them under-prepared for college
Graduating high school is no longer enough to be successful at the university level

isn't that part of the university role?

not going to Yale!
November 20, 2025 at 2:50 PM
really bad reasoning here
November 20, 2025 at 2:44 PM
yeah, I'm just not there. I don't think performative politics is below anyone, I think it's destructive and inefficient Instead of representing their districts, people are performing for the base of their party. That's not how our government works.
November 6, 2025 at 10:50 PM
The main thing I think about these days is that performative acts in our representatives is the worst.

Full stop after that.

You don't agree. That's cool, but at least you now understand where I'm coming from. I DO NOT think Justice Jackson is reaching a broad audience.
November 6, 2025 at 10:36 PM
again. Who among those reading SCOTUS transcripts or dissents are not aware of this. She's preaching to a tiny choir.

It's 100% performance, and we don't need performers, we need accomplishments.
November 6, 2025 at 2:59 PM
Who is she sounding a warning to, that doesn't already know that warning exists? It sounds a lot like performance to my ears. I don't want performers, I want people who have a plan to do things.
November 5, 2025 at 9:01 PM
You don't see an upside in medium and long-term to taking the opposite attack from what Jackson is doing? And even if you don't see that, what exactly is Jackson achieving?
November 5, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Justice Jackson seems to have a good grip on nothing, IMHO. Rash and short-termist
November 5, 2025 at 7:37 PM
that's your takeaway?!?!??
November 2, 2025 at 4:03 PM
i mean jackson does come across a little petulant, but it's incredibly well reported
November 2, 2025 at 4:02 PM
I hate this. The goal in politics and SCOTUS is to win and enact, not cry about how right you are.
