Just a bleeding heart liberal living in a red district wondering where it all went wrong.
The moment I felt empowered and hopeful was when they were vocal and disruptive. The air being sucked out of the room was the silence following Al Green’s removal. A statement to be made was no one showing up, or everyone standing behind Al Green in solidarity and they did neither.

And where were you, Chuck? Which ping pong paddle did you contribute to the “resistance” tonight?

Nothing makes me feel more hopeless than the pathetic showing of the democrats tonight. God help us.

We all knew what we were going to get out of Trump. I showed up for the democrats and am shocked and appalled that they let Al Green be removed from the chamber without a peep, and it’s just crickets since then. This is the opposition and this is how democracy dies.

I’ve always respected you as a no-nonsense representative. Do you think the boycotting by you and a handful of other Democrats was more effective than making a unified showing tonight? It seemed to only serve the purpose of allowing the republicans to dominate the room even more.

As a Democrat represented by a State’s Rights Republican, the right wing representatives do not care that they break their promises. They do not care that they lie through their teeth to get elected, and they do not care that their constituents are pissed off and suffering.
