I liked the two thirds a lot more than the last third. Character arcs just don't feel as complete, tbh. At a certain point, it became fight after fight after fight, and it got tiresome.
It's an okay manga, overall. Not the masterpiece people claim.

I liked the two thirds a lot more than the last third. Character arcs just don't feel as complete, tbh. At a certain point, it became fight after fight after fight, and it got tiresome.

Yes, Deadman Wonderland can be dark and gory, but it can also be funny, it can be fanatical, it can be sci-fi, it can be romantic, it can be a million things, because, at the end of the day, it's a shonen manga.

And last thing on Kiyomasa, he looks like a character designed by Rob Liefeld. The eye patch, I get, but why is he wearing combat boots, why is he wearing a longcoat, why is he anything.

Kiyomasa Senji is genuinely the worst character in the entire manga, by a country mile. I can say one thing I can say I like about any of the other characters, but I can't think of a single thing that I like about him.
He is, in every definition of the word, an Aura merchant.

I really am so glad this never got a S2 (mainly bc there were never plans to), bc they probably would done something dumb like, IDK, kill off Ganta (the main character(!!!)) or smth.

And of course, the dub changes it to something completely different, but, unlike a lot of their changes, this is one of the few times I'll give them an A for effort.
(Also, I still think Ganta's VA was miscast, I don't wanna hear about no, he's 14)
