Too wrapped in our own pain to care about anyone else's as the world eats us alive and when it spits us back up we surrender.

We surrender because we'd rather die sad, and dejected than die depressed, and despondent.

Too distracted by our own pain by our own suffering we let those around us die

I miss when people cared deeply. Not just about themselves, but their passions and cared about others.

The days before empathy was dead.

But here we are instead.

We call ourselves human, but have lost our humanity
We call ourselves free, yet have forfeit our freedom
