Yes! I keep trialling it and being braver each time with the salt. The best dahl I ever had was made by a Bangladeshi lady I knew. Just reading now that a 5 spice mix called panch phoron is used. I'll get that for next time I make it.

You're a trooper. I wrap finger/hand burns in ice for ages afterwards. Which drags out the pan for longer probably.

Ouch. Burns are nasty. Even little ones. Disproportionately painful.

This is the current situation by my toilet. There's even more now since I took photo. Collecting toilet rolls is now my hobby it seems.
