i think its appealing as an endearment in that it has a sense of devotion tied to it. the contrast b/w blessing and curse is also appealing, imo.... i dont doubt that gg chose the name megumi purposefully with the early drafts in mind. the characters, even diluted as-is, complement one another

ill be an asshole and say that it hits harder for me than yjs "itll be lonely without you" and "i am you" moments. hes such a lovely, very human, character--the definition of compassion. but i see it as empathy vs sympathy. that fundamental understanding between skfs really does it for me

i was thinking about their fight outside of the detention center ending w/ this moral...distinction? and their ending, where skna is so desperate to live that meg himself wants to live. they understand each others loneliness in ways no one else does. the ripping apart, body & soul, is also so poetic
