BTW have you seen “Martyrs” (the French original)? I was put off by the reviews & comments about how harrowing it is, but a colleague I really trust recommended it, and it is quite quite magnificent. it’s cruel & brutal & violent but the direction & acting are sublime - and the ending so ambiguous..

It’s the worst 😢. Xander is now in University in Aberystwyth doing politics and seems to be liking it, he’s already looking for accommodation for his 2nd year.
