A bodyscape from a while back. Creating abstract images with human forms is always a challenge and a joy. #nude #photography #nonsexual #body #landscape

Props are more than just physical objects. They allow the model to interact and provides a target for emotions. The lyra is a great prop that demands physicality but also creates a structured shape to contrast with the organic nature of folks. With @nataliya_natta on IG #nude #photography #lyra

Interestingly, even though I only have a few followers, I get some engagement on my posts. To date, they've been mostly pure art with little commentary. However, yesterday I posted an image with uncomfortable social commentary, and zero engagement. Maybe because I tagged it "adult"?

(1/3) In the US we're hyper-sexualized, particularly with respect to the female body, resulting in the censorship of nudity. Women are forcibly required to cover up body parts, such as nipples, because our society has declared that femme nipples equal sex. At the same time while women are forced to

I've had the fortune to have some long running friendships that have come out of the creative process. I've worked with this model for 15 years. Here are images from our first shoot in 2014 and from our most recent shoot. #nude #photography #figure

I find I'm almost exclusively a studio photographer. I need the control to create exactly what I want. I occasionally shoot outside the studio. These are from a trip to WV to work with an awesome group of folks who just wanted to have fun in an empty house. #photography #nude #bodypositivity

My wife will be having breast cancer surgery tomorrow. I created a series of figure based cancer awareness "ribbons" a long time back. Posting this here to raise awareness and for good vibes.

For me, creation of an image needs to be built upon the rapport I have with the model. Whether close friends, or new acquaintances, the connection we have forms the image as much as lighting, posing, or processing. Here's one of my favorite images with two folks I'm glad to call friends.

My “Flesh” series examines objectification of women by literally creating fleshy objects out of people. It was displayed in 2017 in DC, and proceeds from the show went to support a women’s shelter. Once a person is reduced to an object, are they still a person? #nude #phography #objectification

Non photo post. Let's talk trade. Are models who have revenue generating sites open to trade modeling time to a photographer in exchange for shooting content for their site? I've done that in the distant past, but is that now a thing?

From my "Body Language" series. Each participant spelled a word significant to them. This particular image was comissioned for the book "Geek Love". I also turned this into a set of fridge magnets so everyone could spell words with the nude form. #nude #photography #geeklove

One of my most popular series is "Figuratively Speaking", in which I convey colloquial saying though the human form. Any guess what figure of speech is depicted here?

Let's talk Scars. We all have them. Some are visible, some not. However, they are part of our origin story and should be acknowledged as a part of our journey. My series on scars was recently displayed at Artomatic DC. This is Marzi with her double mastectomy and reconstruction scars.
