Forgot to mention , if you have a Sony (not sure about other camera systems) you can change to apsc crop mode, so a 50mm will change to a 76mm focus length.

You won't get yelled if you do it openly and from a good place, starting out, i used to use an 85mm lens to create some distance between me and my subjects, some really good videos on YouTube. Paulie B does an incredible series called Walkie Talkie. It will inspire you.
