Still looking at Pine Cones - today exploring a ‘How to draw’ tutorial. That’s all well and good but drawing is messy and cerebral and I‘m not looking for graphic perfection. It’s superficially seductive but not my thing. Daily #drawing

Thames still in spate
Struggling with #drawing a citron (cedro lemon) in this poor light. What looks like an easy form to draw is very hard. Best of a bad bunch. Give up and eat the damn thing.

Good book at the library today. Mentions Leonardo’s 4 types of light: diffused (overcast days) “that of the atmosphere within our horizon”; direct, “as that of the sun or open window”; reflected “lustre” and “that which passes through semi-transparent bodies” e.g. translucent linen / paper #drawing
