If you end up reading the the Umineko VN (the manga is also a solid alternative), then look up the 07th Mod: It adds voices and (optionally) sprites from the PS3 version to Umineko and Higurashi, and the voices in particularly *significantly* elevate the experience

Localized games vary a lot in quality: You get games localized with care, and you get games that are rendered nearly unplayable by machine translated nonsense, that is often littered with unlocalized punctuation, and where the text might not even fit the UI. But I would prefer seeing *both* scores

Per the article, krispycat searched for their games, but did not see them in the search suggestions, and concluded that they had been removed. But nothing suggests that their games were ever listed there. Most games aren't in the search suggestions, that's easy to verify, though many yuri games are

Your colleague is publicly harassing one of our staff members on the assumption that misinformation that you published is true, despite us providing you with details descriptions of how our internal systems work in various bluesky threads over the past day.

We did not blanket deindex yuri content.

Back in April, Collective Shout called on Steam and itch to remove one game, "No Mercy", and they did. That was all. Then, in July, Collective Shout launched a new campaign directly targeting payment processors, and that led to the current situation. How could itch have known about that in advance?

Your game does seem to be deindexed: I can't find it by searching, whether I am logged in or logged out of itch. And that is with "Show content marked as adult in search & browse" enabled when logged in

Stuff that was "hit" mainly seems due to devs
- only using itch to link to other stores
- never having finished their store pages
- tagging stuff as "adult" despite it being sfw
- marking stuff as "sensitive" and thus hidden unless you log in
and often since long before the current brouhaha started

Steam vets games for both functionality and content, and many games have been rejected during this process, even mainstream games like CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. See partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/re... and partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettings...

Apparently Mouthwashing was delisted last year, due to the developers themselves removing it from sale on itch:

This is not true:

This game hasn't been indexed since October 2024 since it doesn't meet our indexing criteria: itch.io/docs/creator...

The developers are using a "Download" button as a link to Steam. The developer took down any playable files form this page in 2024.

I still have my copy in my library *and* I can download all 3 builds when I click on the "Download" button in my library. However, I started by finding the game via the "Download your purchase" link in the "Your purchase of" email that I received when I bought it, so maybe that makes a difference

It surely depends on the artist, but in my experience albums on bandcamp tend to be in the £5-10 range, excluding taxes. Though I would have to stream an artist for 115-230 hours before they got the same £5-10 (assuming 3.5 min. tracks), and that'd probably take years since I listen to many artists
