SURE, IT’S ALWAYS BEEN A FUNNY NAME, but even when embossed on a guitar pick, it begs the storyteller for a tale or two between songs. Stories recalled then—blending with rehearsal hours for the Studio this week. You are going to love this album.

TOO COLD TO TYPE even on a machine made in Switzerland. Clearing the mind—for some it’s a sweat lodge, for others a night outdoors when it snows. Thanks to Kathy and Dean for the balcony.

MINNESOTA’S OWN RED WING SHOE CO. Promotes Steve McQueen wearing their boots in dirt bike competition (See Thursday, 11/21 STRIB). I can attest; in pavement pounding Paris, my Wings never let me down. Future expats take note.

AH-OOH! “Somebody” has been in Studio recording a new song. In Rockabilly. Afraid though you’re going to have to pay to hear it when the album comes or find me live ‘till then. But you can SEE the typewriter track on the recording HERE for free. BTW that’s a FIRST production (1929) Elton.

THE AMERICAN GOTHIC HOUSE, GRANT WOOD’S awaits the wayfaring typewriter with the porch steps ideal for the Empire 45. It’s small, but the upstairs window with curtain is a ringer. As Wood rambled through Iowa country so do we always in EXTREME mode. Photo: LSK #americangothichouse #grantwood

MAN ITS GOING TO BE QUIET AROUND THIS CITY. I CAN’T THINK OF ANYONE IN MY CIRCLE that escaped the attention of Tony Glover, Dave Ray, and John Koerner. They were so open to every songwriter and performer. Such a loss, & such a lesson in living the music life well.
