That’s so funny. Yeah, I’d be fascinated to know what qualifies an Orthodox parish as lib these days, especially compared to 20 years ago when these same headlines were being written but the story was completely different and more mundane.

I’d also like to actually weigh in and say that I’ve heard similar things about the turn toward Broism about my former home parish, Fr. Freeman’s old parish. Makes me sad.

Riccardi-Swartz’s (she’s Orthodox) book is supposed to be pretty good. I haven’t read it yet but I’ve talked to her and am fb friends with her, and she approaches the issue fairly well. The orthobros constantly try to discredit her, tho, so that’s an obvs endorsement. 😂

You can tell she gets it cause she talks to Frs. Damick and Trenham, *and* slips Rod Dreher a nod. lol

Oftentimes, this is the only way.

A lot of the time, I feel the more reasonable reads of dreams are simply taking away the literal situations they present and instead paying attention to the underlying effects. Here, I’d say that, somewhere inside (known or not), you feel a sense of being unstable, and you can’t find rest from it.
