I saw a (moderately compelling) hypothesis a few months ago that Apple uses iOS UI changes to train consumers before new tech arrives. The idea was “liquid glass” is the introduction to interfaces built for Augmented Reality/smart glasses.
No clue how real that is, just thought it was interesting.
